What it is:

The OBSERV 320 is a diagnostic imaging device that photographs your skin under multiple specialized light modes — each one designed to make a different layer or behavior of your skin visible. It's completely non-invasive: no contact, no sensation, no downtime. You look into the device, it captures a series of images, and suddenly we're both looking at information your bathroom mirror has never shown you.

Each light mode answers a different question:

Daylight captures your true baseline — skin as the world sees it.
Cross-polarized light filters out surface shine to reveal what's below: pigment forming under the surface, redness patterns, and vascular activity.
Parallel-polarized light does the opposite — isolating surface texture, fine lines, and pore behavior in sharp relief.
True UV / fluorescence is the revelation mode: sun damage your eyes can't see yet, dehydration patterns, and congestion — clogged pores and acne-related bacteria literally fluoresce under this light.

Together, these images turn "my skin just looks off" into a specific, visible, addressable list.

Why imaging changes everything:

It ends the guessing.

Most skincare — professional and at-home — is prescribed from what's visible on the surface. But pigment shows up in imaging months before it surfaces; dehydration masquerades as a dozen other problems; and "breakout-prone" often has a visible congestion pattern with a clear cause. When we can see the actual issue, we treat the actual issue.

It makes your plan honest.

I don't have to convince you of anything — the images do the explaining, and you'll understand your own skin well enough to make decisions confidently. That's the entire IWTS philosophy in one device: an educated client, not a persuaded one.

FAQ:

Is OBSERV skin analysis safe? Does UV light imaging damage skin?

Completely safe — the imaging uses brief, controlled light exposure (a moment, not a session), with no lasers, no radiation concerns, and no contact. It's diagnostic photography, not a treatment.

Do I need to prepare anything?

Just arrive as you are — I'll cleanse and remove makeup before imaging so we capture your actual skin. If you can, skip heavy SPF or makeup right before, but neither is a dealbreaker.

Will it work on darker skin tones?

Yes — and it's genuinely useful there, because subsurface pigment activity (the early stage of hyperpigmentation and melasma) is exactly what cross-polarized imaging reveals. Catching pigment before it surfaces is how we stay ahead of it.

Can I get just the imaging without the consultation?

The imaging is only offered inside the Skin Reading — because a picture of a problem without a plan for it isn't a service I'm willing to sell you. The value is the interpretation.

How often should skin be re-imaged?

At meaningful checkpoints — typically after a corrective series or seasonally — so we're tracking real change, not day-to-day noise. Progress imaging is part of ongoing plans at IWTS.

Is this the same as the skin scanners at makeup counters or med spas?

Same category, very different depth. The OBSERV 320's multi-mode polarized and fluorescence imaging is professional diagnostic equipment — and more importantly, a scan is only as good as the education and plan attached to it.
